The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Limited (OMFED) has several major objectives aimed at enhancing the dairy industry and supporting rural farming communities. These objectives include:

• Promotion of Dairy Activities: OMFED focuses on promoting the production, procurement, processing, and marketing of milk and milk products to foster economic development within rural farming communities.
• Development of Allied Activities: The federation aims to expand activities that support the dairy industry, including improving the welfare of milch animals and enhancing the economic conditions of those involved in milk production.
• Infrastructure Development: OMFED is involved in purchasing or constructing necessary facilities, such as buildings and processing plants, to facilitate its operations.
• Research and Problem Solving: The organization studies issues related to the procurement and marketing of dairy products to find mutual solutions for its members.
• Commodities Procurement: It procures commodities from members and other sources while safeguarding the interests of its members.
• Milk Processing and Distribution: OMFED processes, manufactures, distributes, and sells milk products, and establishes milk collection and chilling centers.
• Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services: The federation provides veterinary aid, artificial insemination services, and other animal husbandry activities to improve animal health and productivity.
• Management Support: OMFED advises and assists member unions in management, supervision, and audit functions, ensuring effective governance.
